Measurable Effects of Group Meditation on a Physical Space
The process of meditation has a positive impact not only on the meditator but also on the environment around the person. That is why we can feel such unexpected and often powerful emotions, when visiting holy places and museums – they hold a special energy, accumulated over years…for example of countless prayers or feelings of awe or enjoyment over a masterpiece of art. These unexplainable yet real sensations, have been measured by a sophisticated detection device developed by Dr. Konstantin Korotkov, known as the Bio-Well Sputnik.
Based on the example graph above, we can see that during the time preceding meditation, the energy in the room was noticeably higher and relatively stable and then began to drop/balance –first beginning with the focused attention on Dr. Joe’s presentation, and continued to further lower/balance during the actual process of him leading the group into meditation. The drop is significant as measured in Joules on the vertical axis over time on the horizontal axis.

This phenomenon demonstrated is studied by using Bio-Well—an instrument which measures individual human bio-photon emissions. An adjoining Energy Environment Sensor (EES), “Sputnik,” measures the surrounding energy of the environmental space.
The environmental conditions measured, are affected by and determined by the “emissions” from all of the people present. For example, their positive emotions or stress, which manifest as an autonomic nervous system (ANS) response , induce changes such as capillary blood circulation, and skin conductivity. These types of physical changes are remarkably sensed and reflected on the Sputnik signal!
As a result, it was proven during meditation, we can balance not only our own energy but also the energy of the surrounding environment—thus making a space more beneficial to the people occupying it. “Sputnik” can be set to operate in a passive automatic mode, needing no human intervention and therefore ensuring experimental data integrity. This effect on the energetic balance of a space was recreated multiple times in the workshops directed by well known scientific investigators including Dr. Eric Pearl, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Lynne McTaggart, and many others. When there are several sensors in the room, they respond similarly simultaneously. This allowed the scientists to prove that this was not a “random effect” due to the signal variations, but instead a corroboration of the multiple devices. This provided further evidence that the change in the electrical energy was a consistent result of the meditation process.
It’ is easier to imagine-- and the research is well documented-- that meditators themselves realize benefits to their health and wellbeing from the many techniques available, which generally aim to cultivate a state of calm, clarity, presence, and balance along with a deeper connection to one’s inner world.
However among the many meditation studies conducted, others also focused on the effects of group vs. individual meditation, providing evidence that such mass meditation can create more widespread changes on the “feeling” or effects on “a space” (as this experimented demonstrated) and therefore have the potential to impact even more expansive global changes-- such as reducing the level of societal anxiety and tension, and creating more positive coherence in the collective consciousness. As a result of documenting such changes in the environmental electrical energy of the room-- as captured by the Bio- Well Sputnik during these meditations--one can extrapolate that there could be even greater effects at a distance!— like the “butterfly effect.”
Takeaway – Dr. Korotkov’s research and measurements through use of the Bio-Well and Sputnik have provided yet another source of empirical validation of the multitude of unseen influences on our wellbeing, our space and those around us. — including through the beneficial effects of the practice of meditation. There is so much more to learn about how our energetic emissions are real and measurable and how widespread the effects could be.
Invitation – For wellness practitioners and anyone who wants to see the trends / positive impact of their recommended wellness interventions or other steps taken to harmonizes the body, mind and spirit, the Bio-Well could be a valuable measurement tool.
