Random Number Generators become More Ordered during Events of Worldwide or Large Scale Attention

The “coherence” of the shared outpouring of emotions produced in global and other significant events has been shown to create order in Random Number Generators (RNGs). This suggests the concept that we are all connected in a unified field of consciousness that has been described by sages in numerous cultures throughout history.

Scientists at the Global Consciousness Project (GCP) associated with the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) Lab found through their data collection, that there is a structure that emerged in what would normally be random data—when its collection time coincided with large global events that capture the human heart and mind. They proposed that coherent consciousness creates order and that even its subtle effects are scientifically important-- linking us with one another and the planet. The implications for positive change in our world, are even more compelling. When world events occur, feelings of millions are synchronized and this is reflected in the random number generators (RNGs)—further corroborating the potential existence of a unified field of consciousness.

This observation through random number generators was also tested in an “Intention for Peace experiment” conducted by author and researcher, Lynne McTaggart. Compelling RNG data was compiled by Roger Nelson, Director of the Global Consciousness Project (GCP), as a member of McTaggart’s scientific team.

These more ordered RNG findings are similar to those found during mass meditations for quieting violence in a particular area, and were most striking during the 10-minute window when McTaggart’s global online community was focusing their intentions for peace.

They calculate one in a trillion odds that the effect is due to chance.

The significance of this remarkable outcome suggests endless opportunities to shift our circumstances in ways that ordinarily would seem out of reach.

McTaggart’s experiments and the GCPs use of RNGs and their results showing coherence are among the mounting science-based evidence, corroborated by ancient traditions, to support the idea that our intentions are indeed very powerful and that our consciousness is linked to others. We imagine things all the time, all day long. The prospect that we can direct our intentions to create a healthier, more loving planet with better relationships in our lives and at all levels has huge implications for inner peace and peace on a global scale.

More about The Global Consciousness Project:

Roger Nelson established the Global Consciousness Project GCP in 1979 at Princeton and is currently directing it under the The Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS).

The GCP is an international, multidisciplinary collaboration of scientists and engineers collecting data on a continuous basis from a global network of physical random number generators from around the world. The focus of the GCP is an engineering approach to look at, explore, and answer whether sensitive electronics including random components might be affected by states of collective consciousness, including strong emotions and focused intention.
